Vineyards

As everyone knows, great wines begin with great grapes. Rather than be limited to one vineyard our fruit comes from some of the most well known and prestigious vineyards in the world. We choose these vineyards for their unique characteristics and history in producing some of the top Napa Valley Cabs over the years.

To Kalon Vineyard

Oakville, Napa Valley - Established in 1868
To Kalon has been the source of some of California’s most famous wines for a century. It is one of the greatest homes of Cabernet Sauvignon "grapes" in the New World.

This is the site that started the California cult cab mania and has produced many legendary wines including 99 point scores. In Wine Spectator’s Great California Cabernets (annual report dated November 15, 2006) 5 of their top 30 great California Cabs were from To Kalon.

Located in the Oakville American Viticultural Area (AVA), at the base of the Mayacamas Mountain range, To Kalon experiences warm daytime temperatures tempered by the morning and evening fog influence from the Pacific Ocean. This vineyard produces smaller, more concentrated clusters of fruit and wines produced from here typically have a phenomenal combination of power and silkiness.

Dr. Crane Vineyard

St. Helena, Napa Valley - Established in 1858 by Dr. George Beldon Crane
Dr. Crane is a small vineyard (25 acres) located in St. Helena in the flood plain of Sulphur Creek and is very gravelly. The cabs here tend to ripen earlier and are very comfortable with stress and heat. The fruit has an intense flavor, is herbal with soft tannins, layers and is very dark. With only 25 acres available we are in very good company with Paul Hobbs Winery also producing a single vineyard Cab from Dr. Crane.

Stagecoach Vineyard

Pritchard Hill, Napa Valley
One of the oldest and best known vineyards, Stagecoach emerges 900-1700 feet above sea level and has a wide range of varietals, rootstocks and micro-climates. It's surrounded by some very prestigious vineyards in their own rights such as David Arthur, Dalla Valle and Bryant Family. Our grapes come from near the top of the vineyard which is lower yielding than most of the vineyard.
